Here are four ads that made us cringe a bit.
This is CLEO magazine's online breast cancer awareness video starring CLEO's Most eligible bachelor 2009 Henry Golding.
This video educates young women on how early detection can save lives.
It does serve its purpose and is not bad although we feel having the male model is inappropriate due to the very sensitive and feminine subject matter, breast cancer.
Its resemblance to a Christmas commercial is just uncanny. The only difference is this santa is muslim and wears muslim attire and there is no rudolf!
The actual ad has been taken down from youtube, so here are some clips from the ad that made it to the news due to it controversial messages that offends non-muslims as well as chinese malays in this society. This ad aired on 8TV.
The ad basically shows a Chinese malay girl being loud, wearing sleevleless clothes and eating in a ramadan bazar. Later, the correct way to behave is also shown .
There is a scene in it where the Indian malay husband and his Muslim wife go to his parents house to celebrate this holy day. while everybody sits around to have lunch the wife awkwardly sits without eating and only eats when a neighbour who is also muslim walks in and says the food is made by her.
Does this mean a muslim is supposed to cook food just to cater to muslims on a dipawali open house? ridiculous.

It's always a good practice to include your opinions and views to a design/art work because critiquing trains us to be analytical and not to just accept things as they are. Questioning the validity of information provides a platform for improvement. If you've time, it's best to support those opinions and views with research.
