The advertisement's intention is to demonstrate what should not be done, as a non-muslim, to respect the muslims during the holy month of Ramadhan.
They made use of a chinese girl who, in the ads, act as a very loud, attention-seeking person. I'm not sure why, but perhaps the person who came up with the idea of this ad has this kind of stereotype about chinese girls… I'm really not sure if this ad is supposed to be a 'good example' to only chinese girls, or other races as well, but it definitely gives the impression that it's directed at chinese girls, (since they used a chinese girl to act the part, for all the 3 seperate ads) which is not very nice. I mean, if they wanted to generalize it, they should've used a variety of girls that are of different races so that it wouldn't be too specific. But still, the idea of this ad is just very offensive. I guess it is arguable that maybe they just really wanted to find a way to inform how non-muslims could help the muslims to err, behave at their best behavior and not be exposed to all these temptations that the other people are sort of 'dangling' right infront of their faces.
I think it was very unnecessary to show all the "what not to do" bits, it would've been better if they just made use of the "what to do" bits… the positive parts. I think that would have made it less offensive because they weren't as exaggerated as the 'what not to do' parts. (I hope this makes sense)
Yours truly,
